A small kick: Can this be an updated version of a Bugatti type 9 (Deutz) I compared this picture with a picture of a type 9: Chassis longerons are the same, front axle is same or similar, wheels are the same, steering wheel is same or very similar. Length could be the same. Different are the mudguards (not difficult to remove, I suppose) but also the shape of the radiator and bonnet/hood. |

I don't think. The bonnet is much higher. I would need a detail of the front hub (or front wheel). Is it a BENZ ? |

Right hand drive mercedes? I will try and enlarge the two drivers. Perhaps someone recognises them. But indeed the bonnet shape is different. |

I cannot write it in English Could somebody translate? |

Translated via http://babelfish.altavista.com They are both of Benz of race 1908-1909. - the shape of the cap (with stone guard resembles those of photographs above. The cap is besides much higher than that of Deutz. - the hub with the characteristics small circles (to be confirmed) - the same pinion of the transmission with chains (can find itself on other marks) and to be changed (photo 2) - the same system of fastener of the spare wheel |

It's indeed a 12 litre Benz, driven by Victor Hemery at the Savannah Grand Prize (USA) 1908. |

Thank you. Great picture, wrong car... I have a clock and a larger plate with this picture on it. They were on sale at a local shop, and the price was such that it would be stupid not to take them. |
