Symbolic handover of the Grand Sport Vitesse key to Bugatti’s new President
Molsheim, September 1, 2012 – Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber starts his new job as President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. from today onwards. Former President Wolfgang Dürheimer has handed him the key to Bugatti’s latest model, the 1200hp roadster Grand Sport Vitesse.
Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, an engineering graduate, joined the Volkswagen Group in 1984. He was made head of transmission and drivetrain development at the Volkswagen brand in 1996. He moved to Bugatti Engineering Ltd in 2003 to take up the post of Technical Director and later Managing Director of the Super Sports car company over the next eight years. During this time the famous Bugatti Veyron (2005) and Grand Sport (2008) were launched. In addition the current world speed record holding Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (431 km/h) went into production. Schreiber has been the member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles responsible for development since September 2006 and additionally was made Speaker for the Board of Management in February 2010.
