Today I received an e-mail from "bugattilover@msn.com", claimed sender "Steven Picket". Text reads

Quote:
Hello.
How are you doing today?
My name is Steven and i am a staunch Bugatti fan.
I am about to buy this old type 251 bugatti. But i am not sure about the documentation. and i would appreciate if you can help me with advice and more information about the type 251 Bugatti. I can show you more pictures if you want to see them.
Got your email from the bugatti fan page.
Regards

I smelled the fish and replied

Quote:
The 2 only ever built T251 are owned by the Mulhouse museum and not for sale.
So what are you talking about...??

Scammer's reply

Regards
Steven

The link leads to "ht*p://pimble.info/wp-info/google.document.html" (URL defused), which is a phishing site for e-mail accounts. Everybody who got this or a similar mail, and entered his mail address + password, has lost his mail account to criminals. In case they did not changed the password yet it is highly recommended for the real account owner to change it immediately. Severe danger is given if the same password is used also for other services which potentially are recognizable by mails still stored on the mail server. As example, the scammers can also highjack eBay or Amazon accounts, change the delivery address, and buy items on the credit card of the real account owner.

I received the same mail, as did two others.

No, I did not. Don't even have a Google account!

Lucky that this guy mentioned a T251, which everybody knows can't be! If he would have mentioned a T40 or so, would have been more tempting to take a look at photo's!

Or did I just give somebody an idea....

The phishing site if offline luckily, but as far as I remember there had been shown various mail logos not only that of Google, so although it is not logical to log in with Yahoo, AOL, or others to reach a "Google page", some people for sure have done.

I still wonder how the scammers got my email address in connection to Bugatti, as there is no "Bugatti fan page", or if so than I am not active there, and here in this board I allow only PMs and no mails. Except by admins(s), which may lead to the conclusion that there is (again?) an open back door on the webserver.
