Re Photos on your website : my understanding is that this car has a plain-bearing crankshaft. Assuming that is correct, how can it be described as a Replica type 35B ? |

The discussion about replicas is an ongoing one, and it can be funneled to one single question: What is the definition of a replica. For "purists", replicas are copies of the original, which are correct in every aspect. For "enthousiastes", replicas are mere-copies of the original, which are correct as closely as feasable. This might induce (minor) deviations from the original. This is how I see it. There is a third group of people, but I do not want to mention them... |

If we allow cars with plain bearing cranks to be called type 35B it renders the term meaningless. "35B" defines the crank type and the engine capacity. |
