Hello everyone !

First, let me briefly introduce myself : I'm a 22 year-old car enthusiast living in the south of France (so sorry for my English !) and since a few weeks, I'm looking for information about the Grand Prix of Nîmes, especially the 1932 and 1933 races.

Many Bugattis were entered, so I'm trying to identify as many as possible thanks to your help. I already have some chassis numbers that I've found on the wiki Bugatti Register. Here are the information I have, only those linked to Bugatti. Of course, you can correct them !

1932, May 16th
Grand Prix, 70 laps

First place : Benoît Falchetto (#16) - Bugatti Type 35B (s/n unknown) - 1h33.28

Image

Third place : Stanislas Czaykowski (#18) - Bugatti Type 51 (s/n 51126) - 68 laps

Fifth place : According to different sources, called Cousinié, Consinié or Conzine (#22) - Bugatti Type 35 (s/n 4794) - 66 laps

DNF

-Charles Druck (#14) - Bugatti Type 35C (s/n unknown) - Was forced to retire after a forbidden change of wheel (42 laps)
-Louis Chiron (#4) - Bugatti Type 51 (s/n unknown) - Retired after the breaking of an oil pipe (11th lap)

-Edouard Roux (#6) - Bugatti Type 35 (s/n unknown) - Retired (2nd lap)
-Mlle Hellé-Nice (#10) - Bugatti Type 35C (s/n 4921) - Retired (2nd lap)
-According to different sources, named Lamy or Jamy (#20) - Bugatti Type 35B (s/n unknown) - Retired (1st lap)
-Canin (#8) - Bugatti Type 35B (s/n 4942) - Retired after a crash with the Alfa Romeo 8C of Etancelin (1st lap)

Thanks for adding information I hadn't !
Do you know more things about Couziné, Ferrant and his Bugatti with Peugeot engine ?

And I was going to post about the Trophée de Provence, but thanks.
By the way, good news today : I've been able to get some unreleased pictures of the 1933 race from a friend, including a shot of two Bugattis. I will post it later.

Unfortunately I have - depending on source - 5 different spellings of Couzinié:
- Laurens Couzine (including prename)
- Cousine
- Cousinié
- Cousinie
- Couzinie
However, I assume that "Couzinié" ist the most likely version.
I also doubt the prename "Laurens", probably it was "Laurent".

4797 was sold by Bugatti to him as new as late as 7 August 1931 only, thus 5 years after manufacturing date. His address was 21 Rue Colombette at Toulouse.

René Ferrant owned an old Peugeot racing car type 174S before, most probably he put the 4 litre engine into a Bugatti chassis.

I have also found the different spellings you have listed, but as you said Couzinié seems to be the most likely version.

Maybe I will try to contact the archives of Toulouse to see if a "Laurent Couzinié" exists.

And thanks for the information about Ferrant's car !
