Who is Oscar Brocades Zaalberg?

I read a column in a plastics magazine, and he seemed to know what he was talking about regarding Bugattis.

It was in Dutch, but the following was the core of the column:

Bugatti was an inventor. He created new things, like split crankshafts to allow for ultralight conrods, hollow front axles, engines without head gasket, etc.

Ferrari was a follower. He took existing techniques, and improved them. Even up till now, all car technique (except for (usually faulty) electronics) is based on what these people invented in the 1890's untill the 1930's. Nothing new since then.

A parallel was drawn with the plastics industry. Nothing new today. All materials that are used now, are invented in the 50's untill the 80's. Today it's only improvement of existing materials and techniques.

We need a new Bugatti. We have enough Ferraris...

I know Oscar personally. He has a small company called BPO, that specializes in Finite element Modelling of plastic products. They do flow and strength calculations.

I think he's just into old cars somewhat, I don't know him as a Bugatti specialist or so.

He does quite some writing for "Kunststof & Rubber" which had the column.

I did a search for his name on the Internet. Lots on plastics and his company, but I could not tie his name to Bugatti.

If you happen to have read the "Kunststof & Rubber", we supplied the better part of the materials for the ABN-Amro Volvo Ocean Racers.
