Post subject:  Hi from South Africa

Wow, Herman!
Tks for the quick fix on registration.
Awesome site. Can't believe I only stumbled on it now !!
Anyway I have been very active with Bugatti forums on numerous car sites for the past three years since my son, Tyrone (19) reprickled my interest in cars. If you type Bugattitude in your search engine you'll see what I mean ! lol
Well, one thing led to another and now I post updates on Bugatti to 7 well known car sites as well as being an administrator on DiecastXchange, the biggest diecast forum on the web.
My hobby is 1:18 diecast model cars and detailing of these.
I'll pop a few pics in the modelling thread.
Great being here.

Finally, another South African!

Nou voel ek nie meer so eensaam nie. I see you live in Sandton. Which is in Johannesburg. Which is the murder capitol of the world. Survived any hijackings/armed robberies/gunshot wounds lately? (Sorry, I'm from P.E.)

Welcome, things have been a little slow lately. New blood is just what's needed.

Kind Regards
Johan Buchner

Ps Do you also get a lot of "Invalid Sessions" in the attempt to post ??
Is it our infamous Telkom playing up ?

Welcome Bugattitude,

It is nice to see some Afrikaans here. For me as a Dutchman it is easy to read. I've always like to hear Afrikaans, an acquaintance from the past was from SA. Loved to hear her talk.

Greetings, Jeroen

Baie dankie, Jeroen !
'n Man voel sommer klaar tuis hier !
Hope to share some wonderful Bugatti moments with you guys.
Chris

Ps I'm also a member on Henk and Wouter Mellisens' "Ultimate Car Page". You probably know they're also from Nederland. My handle on there is Glisson.
Absolutely my favourite all round car site.

Invalid sessions? It's the weirdest thing, if I post from work no problem; they go through first time, every time. But from home I get up to 5 or so "Invalid Session. Please resubmit form." It drives me nuts. Unfortunately I don't think it's something we can blame on either Telkom or the Government.

I have a theory that the Internet is becoming self aware and is planning to take over the world. Luckily we are both South Africans, as long as Eskom provide the power the Internet's evil conspiracy will never prevail here.

But I so agree with you, those invalid session messages is so very frustrating. To change the subject; I see you are a model builder, please submit some photos of your work. I blow my hard-earned money on collecting books and so far I've been able to resist the temptation to collect models, but I believe a 1/18 T57SC Atlantic is due for release soon. If it's the Williamson car, I'm yielding to temptation and damn the consequences.

Cheers
Johan

PS. I like Ultimatecarpage.com. Supercars.net is also great for good photos.

Johan !!! Stick to the books or you'll have no hard earned money left!!!
Three years ago I inspired CMC models to build the T35GP in 1:18. The most famous bug of all time was not replicated in 1:18.
So nice, they build probably the most outstanding 1:18 ever. BUT!!!
It will set you back in the vicinity of ZAR 3000 !!!
Yes, I am mental !! I should have gotten Maisto or Bburago to do it and it would have been around ZAR 250 !
Only joking, the CMC is worth every cent.
I'll post up some pics tonight.
Cheers

Great to have you here. I really do not know about the time-outs you experience. Keep me posted on that. More people experiencing the same problems?

I have not seen any updates on the CMC Atlantic (if it is an Atlantic, the CMC guys gave hints, but no definitive answer). However, developing such a model takes up to a year or even longer, so we will just need to wait. (and save money...)

Mine is in the showcase, but I still need to take the protective piece of plastic from the windshield (stoneguard)

Cheers Herman.
I started hammering CMC on the Atlantic straight after the T35 launch. I did not want the Atlantic taking priority over a T35, as a lot of non Bug familiar collectors might have shot at that as a priority. Haven't heard a word but neither did I on the T35 until publicity shots started popping up!
I've also requested a T41 Esders and a few others totalling about 15 !!!!

The time-outs are an SA thing !! Someone has probably worked out how to steal cyber space !!

Some day also SA will be enjoying better quality internet connections. It really took a while before things really got reliable here.

I am curious about the outcome of the Atlantic. If they do a job as good as the type 35, this could be very enjoyable.

About stealing cyberspace: Just a week ago someone got in court because he stole "cyberproperty" from someone else. Had to do with some sort of computer game, where one guy forced the other to transfer virtual stuff from one guy to the other. Nice, huh?

About the CMC Bugatti Atlantic in 1:18: not this year, I am afraid.

Now is the Nurnberg Toy Fair, where every producer show their novelties, and CMC did 2 Ferraris, a Mercedes, an Audi, and a revamped Horch, but no Bugatti...

Also AutoArt does not list a Bugatti anymore. I heard rumours that they might be in financial problems...

Minichamps lists an EB110 in white

That is all I could find.
