Charles Dean owns the only 50B engined car which has run in competition in recent years. The register confusingly shows the Dean car together with another built-up car based on a Ray Jones chassis under the heading T59/50B/R 1935. The Dean car is the one at the bottom of the page with UK registration NY 8243. The car was assembled by Charles's father Martin using an ex-de Monge engine (number eight) and an ex-Ray Jones frame. He used it a few times in competition before his untimely death. Charles has rebuilt the engine which is on display at the Bugatti Trust pending re-installation. An internet advert placed some time ago but still in place suggest he needed or still needs some de Ram shock absorbers to finish the project. Charles Dean email: info@fimark.com |
