Dear Fellow Bugatti Maniacs, Are there forum visitors / members that have planned to travel to Molsheim 14 to 16 September for the Bugatti meeting. For windows users who have photos: Use the java uploader to upload large amounts of photos. -edit- I have increased the maximum allowed size for pictures from 1024 kb to 2048 kb. This will allow large format pictures to be uploaded, with a maximum width of 4096 pixels (12 Mpixel cameras) |

Extrait des DNA Page locale La Type 55 Super sport en vedette Comme de tradition, et pour la 24e fois à Molsheim, le festival Bugatti a fait revivre la belle épopée éponyme, réunissant ce week-end près d'une cinquantaine de participants. Ces magnifiques voitures, qui ont convergé de l'Europe entière, ont rejoint à Molsheim le berceau d'une marque qui, aujourd'hui encore, 60 années après la disparition d'Ettore Bugatti, fait rêver de nombreux collectionneurs et passionnés. La plus brillante et la plus rapide voiture de sport de son temps On estime le nombre de voitures fabriquées à Molsheim à 7 950 exemplaires. Aujourd'hui, 1 700 à 1 800 ont survécu, ce qui représente tout de même encore 23 %. Le festival de cette année a été un évènement de rêve. Outre un attrait et une notoriété qui s'étendent bien au-delà des rives du Rhin, les bugattistes ont fêté la « Type 55 », qui fut à l'honneur tout au long de ces trois journées festives. Cette voiture de sport, fabriquée à l'usine de Molsheim en 38 exemplaires entre 1932 et 1934 - le dernier exemplaire fut vendu en juillet 1935 - a tout de même atteint avec ses 135 chevaux près de 180km/h en vitesse de pointe. Elle était aussi la plus brillante et la plus rapide voiture de sport de son temps avec, bien évidemment, une carrosserie en roadster et le style Bugatti incomparable créé par Jean Bugatti. Bien que la « Type 55 Super sport » n'ait été construite qu'en nombre restreint, il y eut des coupés, des cabriolets et des roadsters inoubliables. La production de la «type 55 Super sport » ne peut être considéré comme un succès, même pour une voiture de sport. Mais, justement, le nombre limité d'exemplaires fait aujourd'hui de cette voiture une pièce de collection très rare et, de ce fait, d'une valeur exceptionnelle. Durant ce festival, les bugattistes ont eu le privilège de faire connaissance avec le circuit-découverte inauguré en juin dernier, circuit de 10 totems implantés sur des lieux spécifiques, comme celui au siège des « Pur sang » à Molsheim. Après la balade vosgienne, les curieux ont pu apercevoir ces petites merveilles de collection, samedi en fin d'après-midi, sur la place de l'Hôtel-de-Ville de Molsheim, à l'occasion du traditionnel trophée Fondation-Bugatti pour lequel les participants ont défilé individuellement. Après un petit détour par Obernai et la réception donnée par le maire de Molsheim, Laurent Furst, hier en fin de matinée, avec la remise du trophée dans le jardin de la Chartreuse, les bugattistes se sont encore retrouvés au cimetière de Dorlisheim, autour des sépultures des membres de la famille qui, entre 1910 et 1963 ont fait de Molsheim la cité des Bugatti. Il y a bien des personnes qui ont prises des photos. On peut estimer que la manifestation a rassemblé entre 10 à 15 000 personnes. Certains parleront de 30 000 personnes, mais cela me parait un peu exagéré. |

On the right is Dieter Terbeck, the modelmaker (DTD). He is speaking to Helge Hauk. Helge owns a type 40, and Dieter made a model of that. Of that specific scale model, 3 have been built.
