This year’s Concours d’elegance at “Paleis Het Loo” brought us great weather, 4 Bugatti’s and two “want to be Bugatti’s”.

Type 37 #37256 presented by Marcel Sontrop
Type 35A #4757
Type 54 # 54201 Presented by Olaf Glasius
Type 55 #55208 Presented by Jaap Braam Ruben.

Further info about the “want to be Bugatti’s” is not known. Marcel Sontrop participated in the Rally sprint. The other 3 cars where displayed on the main field.

Olav Glasius in the type 54 at the sprint. No sound, and I know, I really, really need a better camera.

I just learnt that Olav Glasius won the sprint in his type 54.

One of his advantages (apart from having 300 HP available) was that there was no need to shift gears, where others had to waste time shifting up.

The roar from the exhaust was really fantastic. I hope someone with better equipment will post the sprint on Youtube.

Strange… According to Herman (Who visited the show on Sunday) the type 55 was entered by Evert Louwman.
The picture below I took on Saturday. Did Louwman bought the car during the weekend?

Then probably 2 corrections from my side:

-The mentioned type 40 is a type 43
-The type 55 was entered by Braam Ruben, not Evert Louwman.

I guess the paint fumes from redecorating the new house take their toll...

Dear Herman and Jaap… The car pictured below is not a type 40, and not a type 43 either.. It is type 44 #441263
