Was the French racing driver ever owner of a Bugatti T 43 ?
Mostly of the time he entered under a pseudo and drove together with Pierre Louis Dreyfus, kown as Heldé or event Ferret or even Ano.
In his start, he drove a Bugatti T 43 at Spa in the thirties normal body or let s say the more common body. But in 1931, they drove a four seated car T 43.
Any help would be helpful for our book.

Thanks

Robert

Hi Robert,
I think you are looking for information on Antoine and not René Schumann.
Antoine Schumann was a wealthy Parisian banker and a close friend of Pierre Louis-Dreyfus, the famous racing pilot. Among different races, they took part together to the 1939 24 hours of Le Mans.

Antoine Schumann was part of the “Ano-Nime” duo. Schumann and Dreyfus wanted to race anonymously as to hide some of their lavish personal exploits from their shareholders. Under the “Ano-Nime” race name (Schumann being referred to as the “Nime” and Dreyfus as the “Ano”) they raced together at Le Mans on two separate occasions.

Schumann owned, among other, a T50 (#50143) and a Talbot Lago T150SS (#90034) a coupe by Figoni & Falaschi.

It seems that Antoine Schumann was killed during WWII while fighting in the French army.
