1200 Dollars? I think it might remain unsold at that price, for a while at least. Mind you, if I had to choose between $1200.00 and Laugier, I'll take the book(s), thank you very much.

Is it any wonder I'm broke?

Johan

The price seems unbelievable, but it just takes one madcase with money (unlike Johan) and it's sold!

Luckily I already have one....

I don't know what the Dollar-Euro exchange rate is at the moment, but 875 Euros is not exactly a bargain either is it?

I'm glad I got mine though, I never get tired of it. Even though it deals with so few cars, I'm always discovering new things that amazes me. And thanks to the Great Laugier, I've become an 'expert' on the T57S right here on the forum!

Selling Laugier? How strange people can be.

Johan

It seems that both prices are too much, 875 euro is a lot of money, even for a book! Neither of the books got a good bid yet, with the 1200$ book not reaching reserve yet. Wonder if that reserve is more or less than 875 euro. It's just that it's too expensive to find out....

1,200.00 USD = 912.088 EUR (www.xe.com)

I most certainly agree that Laugiers masterpiece on the 57S is not a bargain. Just compare it with Simon Moore's 2.9 book which did sell more than once at auction for well over €1000 - before the 2nd edition came (some sellers still ask these prices!). I think the quality is comparable, but Laugier is much harder to find. Please let me know if you can trace a cheaper, complete set, I'm interested!
Anyway, I'm the lucky owner of two copies and I'll be moving in a few months. A genuine reason for sale, right? And if it doesn't move now, I'll just take it with the rest of my collection to my new house and in a few years it will. Or I'll trade it for some other books. The last months have been expensive with all these new Bugatti books (and a few others: Nic Portways Vauxhall, Sunbeam Racing Cars, Napier, etc).
In the past, I've offered more Bugatti books on eBay - always with the Matchbox type 35 on photos. Why? One of my favourite toys, I guess.

I bought one book from Patrick on eBay some years ago. I can assure that Patrick is a honest seller: the book was new and unread, as described, with a reasonable starting price, excellent packaging, very fast delivery and good communications. If I had to choose between the US seller and Patrick, I would buy again from Patrick. Fortunately, I bought the Laugier´s book in its subscription period. Maybe I should have bought two...
