This photo comes from the catalog of the Gooding & Company auction in August 2008. I don't know if this picture is in a book that recounts the life of Elizabeth Junek.

The car it's a 1927 Bugatti Type 38 Roadster chassis number #38385, this Type 38, which she lovingly nicknamed “Donald,” was used as the reconnaissance car in which she inspected the course and noted its condition prior to the race itself. Her preparation and ability paid off when her Bugatti Type 35B finished fifth overall behind Albert Divo, Caberto Conelli and Louis Chiron in Bugattis and Giuseppe Campari’s second-place Alfa Romeo 6C 1500, even after she was slowed late in the race by cooling problems.

The photo was published in a Czech book "Eliška Junková". I have a copy of it. BK
