I have recently received the book "Bugatti T43 Register". About the book: It is a big, massive book with 368 pages. It contains all the information which can be provided on the T43. The title is very right; it is not only a register of the units produced, but also a compilation of useful information and data on this type. The content of this book is the result of a huge task of investigation on the cars produced, providing a story as complete as possible on each car, previous owners and current situation; old and nowadays pictures of most of the cars are included. Some times, the file on a single car becomes a complete report covering several pages. The author has preferred quantity over quality, including some documents and photographs which are not of the best quality. No problem, I think that Du Gan has made the right choice. He has tried to include as many photographs as possible, covering every blank space which could have been left in the book. There are some grammar mistakes (because of the translation into English) and some abbreviations which are not very clear; but the text can be read and understood without any problem. I would not say that there are more flaws in this book. The book is very well bound and it is made in good quality paper. As a conclusion, it is a very recommendable book. There are words like "carrozzeria" instead of "body". Maybe the mistakes were made by someone from the publishing company revising the original text in order to be published as a book. |
