Are you talking about the photos I posted on the book-list at the start of this thread? It's been driving me nuts! Ever since I edited the list to include the Auto Totaal book none of the photos want to load, all I get is a blank square with a small red cross. I've tried F5 and Ctrl F5 but to no avail. I fear I shall have to repost the entire list.

Damn.
Johan

Oh, yes, you will have to edit your first post and alter all the links to the images. You used the images on the domain http://www.octagonfox.com. Jeroen probably deleted them, or moved them...

Thanks Jeroen, you've just saved me a lot of time and effort. Time I can now devote to my latest writing project, details to follow .............. eventually. I am well schooled in the art of procrastination. Some of you may have noticed I believe.

Cheers
Johan

A very good book indeed, thanks. Spent last night comparing 2.9 with T57S and on paper (the only way to learn about cars given my financial constraints - not complaining, just telling you) the 2.9 seems the 'better' car. Yet it is the T57S I yearn for, especially the Atlantic.

And I love neither car anywhere near as much as I love my books. Given my budget that's probably just as well.

Kind Regards
Johan Buchner

In the june issue of Classic and Sportscar the T57SC (57551) and a Talbot T150-c-ss Teardrop are compared. The Bugatti wins as drivers car. The Talbot as investment.

I knew you'd enjoy the 2.9 book. The 2300 book is worthwhile without question. Upcoming is the P3/monopostos book via Simon as well... better start saving that money now!

A good friend sent me the first version as a PDF and that damn electronic thing has been taunting me ever since and I knew that I would eventually give in to temptation and get it. Found a copy here in South Africa and the price was quite reasonable too. A wonderful book, I'm glad Simon wrote an updated version, most if not all the mysteries have now been cleared up.

I'm going about collecting books on other Marques a little differently, with the Bugatti Collection I suffered from completism (is that even a word?), I had to have every book. For the time being this will be the only Alfa book, next is one book on Delage and then either the Voisin or Buccialli works. That will be it for 2011/12.

I spent so much time, effort and money on Bugatti books I forgot why I got them in the first place - to read! These last few months have seen me enjoying my books and again I realised reading is my second favourite activity.

Kind Regards
Johan Buchner

PS. Is the light two-tone blue Saoutchick Talbot Lago Grand Sport recently shown at Villa D' Este the same car as the white one in Keith Brazendale's Cars of the Golden Era? And was it metallic blue while in the Cussler Collection? Are there only two, this one and Evert Louwman's ex-Rosso Bianco dark two-tone blue one?

For a small moment I thought I could catch Johan on a typo (Saoutchick) :D

But a little research found he was also right:

Johan if you want I can send you a list of other suggested reading non-Bugatti books (Rolland Pilain, Georges Irat, ...).

Kindly note both photos are from Supercars.Net.

Please do not send me any book lists. Unless it's a good list .......... On second thought, yes please send me the book list, now is not the time to become a responsible adult.

Kind Regards
