Dear all. I am leaving this forum.
As this forum is at an all time low.
As I am getting messages by member mreis of a commercial nature that I do not like.
As my comment about this to the webmaster at info@bugattibuilder.com returns undeliverable immedately.
As I can not find who is administrator.
As Johan B is still listed as moderator.
As several esteemed members seem to have left definitely.
As there seem to be only frequent postings by a limited group: Uwe, Gerrit, Jaap and a few others.
As there is a lot of copied marketing blabla content by the VW-Bugatti organisation posted by member pur sang that is not of interested to me.
It is now also my sad conclusion is that this forum is almost dead.

Thank you all for a good time and your valued and interesting contributions (well, most of them anyway).
I wish you all the best.

So the forum is now all but dead.

It seems to me that, after Herman sold the site, the new owner just did not put any effort into it.

And yes, it sometimes is difficult to maintain interest; my own site is not updated these last months as often as it used to. I'm not retired yet, so I have a lot of other things to do also.

But first: Off to Molsheim this afternoon!

This is very sad.I am usually too busy to spend much time on the computor and also most discussion here is about prewar Bugattis and there are so few people interested in the postwar types. There is a wealth of information mostly unpublished sitting in the attics of children of old Bugatti workers and designers.I have had the good luck to find a lot over the past five years. It is mostly about the 1950s projects. If there is sufficient interest I will post some of it here.

Looks like time for a specialized book on the post war Bugs!

Maybe we could work together on that? I personally have a weakness for the post-war designs, and in fact the whole history of the factory, after Ettore died...

And of course, there is more info available than on the pre-war types.

What I meant was that more Original info remained, as development of the post war types is much more recent than all pre-war cars.

Conway was not interested in the post-war cars, as many others....

I regret to see Barttore leaving, but I can understand most of his reasons for leaving, as did others before him without. I now also regret not buying the website when Herman offered them for sale.

I just have sent the owner an e-mail inquiring about his plans with the site. Although my funds are limited, I can and am willing to invest time trying to revive the site.

I also regret Barttorre departure, but sympathise.

Resuscitation may be possible; I am sure I will not be a lone voice wishing Octagonfox well in his endeavours to acquire the site.

Lazarus - your unique collection and insight is always interesting, and appreciated. Please share in dose you see fit, if to do so does not provoke too much muppet behaviour.

Regards to all

Thank you. I have a quite astonishing Bugatti drawing. This is 50 COMP 38 dated 30/5/32.At some time in 1932,Eduard Bertrand ordered a copy [ Tirage ] of this drawing from the drawing office, and proceeded to overdraw on the copy with changes he obviously felt desirable.Once he had finished with it he then turned it over and made a completely new drawing on the back. This time of a new camshaft profile.Number 105 for T57.Although this is a "photo"copy of a Bugatti drawing,it has become also an original due to Bertrands additions on back and front ! Was paper really in such short supply chez Bugatti ? I will try and post a photo of both sides.

Nice find. It can be the nature of the person to reuse paper.

How much of a mess are the drawings?

Revision after revision, and undocumented revisions?

Hello Octagonfox

Did you ever get a reply from the owner??

He still, after a few years, is doing nothing with the site!

Not even putting up new adverts!

Hi Jaap,

Yes, I received a reply from the owner. He didn't want to sell the websites, but suggested I could play a role in reviving this forum.
I replied with my view on things, hoping we could come to an agreement, but haven't had a reply since.

Jeroen
