Surely the car which is described by The Bugatti Trust and in Wiki as 716 is in fact car
475.

475

A 5 litre chain-drive touring type 21 “puis course USA” which was delivered from the factory on 14th April 1914 directly to customer P. Luquet de St. Germain from Annonay (a customer who had previously purchased a type 13 no. 431). It was later sold as a second-hand car to agent Stefan Kjeldsen for Charles W. Fuller in New York (USA) and subsequently raced by Johnny Marquis in the American Grand Prix (27), the Vanderbilt Cup (27) and the GP of California(5). It was then driven by George R. Hill at Indianaoplis and by Joe Cleary at Narragansett Park. All these events were in 1915. The car was then retired and used for touring.

This car should NOT be confused with the shaft drive car 714 driven by Friderich at Indianapolis in 1914.

Hugh Conway’s “Bugatti Magnum” listed seven cars described as “Type 18 – (5 Litres) but made no mention of car 475.

To my knowledge according to information of Serge Pozzoli: (cf Le fanatique de l'Automobile n° 155 de août 1981)

The car driven by Johnny Marquis (unknown chassis number) number 27 has for::
- American Grand Prix, February 27, 1915 at San Francisco
- Coupe Vanderbilt, March 6, 1915,

And number 5 for:
- #5 Californian Grand Prix, March (or May ?) 17, 1915 at Venice, near Los Angeles, USA,
- #5 Indianapolis 1915,

The 716 on Wiki has number 26 in Indianapolis in 1915, with like driver Georges Hill

which would be really the 475 ?

We are in agreement.

The pictures of cars 716 and 7?? are all of car 475.

I have amended Wiki as far as I can but don't know how to move these two entries to 475. Mr. Brouwer please ?

CAR 475

It was definitely a TYPE 21 and I have deleted reference to type 18 in Wiki.

Factory document 302360 refers to "475 Chassis Type 21 ,Moteur 100 x 160"
and document 303960 refers to "1 Chassis Typ. 21 mit Ketten (chain-drive) for 20,000 francs no. 475".

That's good enough for me.
