The "type 13 Brescia Course" in the pictures posted on this site today are of car "rebuilt" in the late sixties by a Parisian called Pautet. It is claimed that this is the ex-Friderich Le Mans car. This notion is supported by "Bugantics" (Summer 1972) showing this car and claiming that "the discovery and restoration of the actual car is of emotional significance". (Bugantics editor A.W. Rippon). Since then the manufacture of fake type 13s has become a major industry. I understand that there were NINE entered for one meeting at Prescott last year. It doubtful if even one of them was an original "Pur Sang" Molsheim Bugatti. |
