http://www.bugattiregister.com/wiki/ind ... wn-7698_NV Quote: not Alessandria in 1931 Of course the photos are from Alessandria 1931! The T35C #4962 was a 1930 workscar, registration 7698-NV. The T51 engine #6 was installed, but the car didn't change identity, it still had serial #4962 and registration 7698-NV. It was painted red and used by Varzi under private entry at Tunis and Alessandria. Varzi did NOT use this car at Monaco, where he raced a blue works car, most probably #51122 (3276-NV1). Only later - may be in May or June - #4962 changed officially identity to #51133, and was re-registered 4800-NV-1 on 7.7.1931. Probably used as spare car, and given to Chiron at the end of the season. Stop thinking black-white only! In 1931 Varzi raced at least 4 different T51, plus the ones he shared with Chiron for the 10 hour races! |

What is your source? Understand 4962 was one of the 3 works cars for the 1930 GP Belgium, all of which had been T35C. |
