The Rothlauf car (ex de l'Espee, ex Björnstad) originally should have had the stampings 4923 / 179. For cheating the customs office this was changed to Björnstad's old car numbers 4696 / 68 which is confirmed by the photos in Wiki (no idea when these had been taken). So if today the stampings are 4928 / 171 something should be wrong, as engine 171 originally belonged to car 4921. A stamping of 4928 together with 171 thus could not be original.

Understand the Mulhouse car is that listed in the Wiki as 4923. For this car a stamping 4928 / 191 would be correct. However, the car is not the original 4923 (or 4928 if one prefers the alternative designation). The photo clearly shows a narrow radiator, which points to an early T35 or a T35A. The large brakes do not fit to both. Most probably the chassis is that of 4611, also a Swiss car, and also in the Schlumpf collection. And this early T35 has the wide radiator of a T35C/B.....

You know that we have different positions about "clearly", and I wonder how somebody can cheat customs with the original stamping clearly visible.

However, if so, then the whole discrepancy is even easier, because 4928 is stamped 4928, and only 4923 is wrongly stamped 4928.
