Have spent most of today on a ladder repairing the stonework on the front of a Victorian chapel which I'm turning into a studio. Cold and dirty work but the only consolation is the variety of interesting machinery driving past. My road leads to the Horseshoe Pass (a mini-Mont Ventoux). and a magnet for sports motor-cycles and cars. Today's tally included a flat tank motorcycle probably returning from the Dragon Rally where foolish bikers spend the night getting paralytic and watching strippers (or so I understand). We have quite a few members of the VMCC in the area who regularly use flat-tankers and belt-drive motorcycles. Their performance belies their antiquated looks. Reliant three wheelers rarely drive past but one did today. I ran a motorcycle shop for ten years and sold spares for them. They really are one of the most horrible devices ever made. More to my taste was a well-used red Morgan trike with a late JAP V twin engine (with the enclosed rockers) - 60 degree from memory with three forward speeds. Registration AGW 28 from memory. In summer the roads of North Wales also attract droves of modern sports cars but today just a smattering of MX5 and TVRs. Just another Sunday. |

My only classic car sighting last sunday was a guy in an orange Porsche 911T, early 1970s type. From the mechanical noise when shifting I reckon he was bringing it to a Porsche workshop... |
