The most beautiful car of the entire automotive history obviously has many replicas.
Some are well done, others not, but what you think about these? Do you know something, just for curiosity?

Here are two links to other replicas. http://www.flickr.com/photos/pierrem/55 ... /lightbox/

The most beautiful car of the entire automotive history !
This is purely a matter of taste ,and applies only to a small group of people .
And often I read it would be the most expensive cars in the world . It is for sure not .
Have you ever driven a Atlantic, especially on a warm day? Do it , so you can see how this car drives .
A " Replica " is a exact copy of an original , in this case there is not one Atlantic replica .

For me, obviously. I can't speak for other people. Perhaps I've espressed my thoughts in a bad way.
And frankly it's not important how it drives for me.
I understand what you mean, but it's clear that these cars are Atlantic-inspired. I wanted only to report a thing that I've noticed, that there are many copies, replicas, atlantic-inspired cars around the world.
Sorry if this is a problem or is uninteresting for someone.

When choosing the most beautiful car, it is of course about looks, not the way it drives. That should be of course incorporated in the Best cars competition.

And yes, you can say that it is the most beautiful car, the Atlantic was chosen to be the most beautiful on several occasions, by a whole series of independent classic car authors, not just Bugatti lovers.

And yes, on a hot day a T43 is much better than an Atlantic, to drive. Though at a concours d'Elegance the Atlantic would win from the T43 any day.

The best known replica's were built by Erik Koux in France, though others are known. Many of these use original Bugatti parts like engines or modified chassis.

The holy cow !
With any car , it is important how it drives . This is the main reason the car is made for.
The most beautiful on several occasions . All depends about , what cars show up . For example , did a Mercedes W198 SLR show up ?
It must not be a hot day , just a normal day is enough . Ask Eric Koux , if you see him .
I better do not start anything about replicas . I can see a welded frame , made from parts .

Sorry to disagree with you.

Beauty can be seen 100% separate from the way a car drives.

As a comparison, a very beautiful woman can have a rotten character.

And, a very ugly Bugatti can be the best drive!

I have to side with Udo on this one.A car is designed to get you from A to B.If it can give a pleasurable drive at the same time this is a bonus. It must [for me] also look nice.As to the T57 Atlantic,I find it over rated. And as most, if not all, of the people who over rate it don't own one and have never driven one then largely irrelevant. It is a pretty car no doubt, but it cannot be a good car to drive,if the ex Pope/Price car has only 10.000 miles on her after over seventy years.I have greatly exceeded this mileage with my T252.A car at least as pretty as the Atlantic. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

" over rated " , is the right description . At least when you sit in one and drive it , you are very disappointed .

I'm other opinion. Why the Atlantic should not be a good car? The Atlantic was one of the most fantastic sports cars at the time. But everyone could not buy such a car. The thirties were a bad time. 1937 cost the Atlantic 150000 francs. Who had as much money? It could be for the buyer a lover vehicle already at that time. A car without compromise. One likes it or likes it not. Not in order to drive from A to B. Separate perhaps only in beautiful weather. One may not forget also the war years. A Veyron is driven on the average 1000 to 1500 kilometers in the year. Thus where is the problem?

Probably I would be also disappointed. But the appearance this car compensates me. So everyone has its opinion. If one regards the selling price of approx. 30 million dollar, this seems to confirm my opinion ...

Hellé's subject was about the quality of the styling and had nothing to do with the driveability of the car. I agree that this is one of the most beautifully designed cars of all time, though I would put it on the same plane as the similar Figoni &Falaschi Talbot-Lago teardrop coupe. I don't care if the Bugatti Atlantic is a motionless concrete statue, it's still an amazing work of the designer's art.

Honestly, sometimes the "Masters of the Universe" on this forum drive me crazy with their nitpicking.

A Mercedes SLR is estimated over 60 million . So it must be a much nicer car .

Sorry to disagree again, value is not the issue here.

Value is mainly determined nowadays by investment value and revenue. Not quality, driveability or even beauty.
