hey good photo of the straight-cut gears
a great job on your T5 gearbox

may i ask in your photo
is this a polymer for the bevel-wheel?

Yes , this is a polymer . It is for testing the machine adjustment . After it is ok in polymer , I cut it in steel . All gears for the T5 are ready in steel .

certainly a great effort to build this T5 gearbox.
she will be a sporty car to drive
looks a close ratio gearbox
a very interesting project
thanks for sharing it is an inspiration
to me the box seems lightly built almost flimsy
its lay shaft is a narrow diameter

I suspect that these small shafts are for test assembly purposes.I think the real ones will be thicker.....

Right , this is a test assembly with a 25mm shaft . The real one has 42mm diameter .

this is the new shaft 42mm diameter hardened and ground . With the new gears made from steel and case hardened .

Nice work on these gears! Do you know how the gears were hardened in the 1920's ?
