Come on guys, please keep it nice.

Of course making Royales is a bit crazy. But if there is someone that pays the bill...

Think about it , it is not crazy at all . If a exclusive Hotel chain want something special for the guests .Everywhere are, Maibachs - Rolls Royces - or Stretcht Limos . So they want some Royales .

Also referring to another topic:

The site is BugattiBUILDER.com

I must say that I personally saw some original Royales, and a few replica's as well. I must admit that the impact is not so much different....

So how many French Bugattis are there ? Bugatti was a German company at the beginning and at the end . All Bugattis from Type 3 up to 1918 are made in Germany .Bevor in Italy . Bugatti was founded in Germany .

I think you will find in the middle though, when it really mattered, it was French.

By the way, haven't you been going on about what a disgrace it is having all these replicas floating about?

Surely not a VW Beetle engine? Now it makes sense, VW own the Bugatti name so I guess you could argue that you are in fact using a Bugatti engine :D

Hmm, for something used as a taxi, I would like a somewhat more easily servicable engine. I would not hesitate to put in a potent Audi engine, or even Toyota...

What VW owns is a name that they bought out of a bankrupt company.
They try to build a history around something they build today as what Mr. Piech's idea of a Bugatti supercar should be.
They were so obsessed to show their paying customers some historic places that they ended in setting up their assembly workshop in Molsheim and if the original factory workshop wasn't still occupied by Messier they would have installed the assembly shop for sure in there.
But that what they build there has nothing to do with a Bugatti.
The engine is assembled with VW parts in the Salzgitter engine plant on the same production line than Pheaton, Bentley and Touareg engines.
For sure it’s technically a masterpiece and one can see what can be done with computer aided design and a good engine management system but for my taste there is too much VW in there.
For me Bugatti stopped existing with the T101 models after the war.
They had their glorious years while producing their cars in (French) Molsheim.
What would Ettore have answered if someone asked him if his company was German Italian or French?
Now if someone really wants to have it legally correct, during the 90’s EB 110 production, Bugatti wasn’t an Italian company either but a Luxembourgish holding…

Concerning Bugatti Royale lookalike’s with air conditioning in the passenger compartment and a VW powertrain I suppose that there is by far more originality and Bugatti spirit in an Argentinian built Pur Sang.
But a lot of money doesn't necessary mean good taste.

Greetings:

Minime
