I have not posted here in a while. My replica has been driven for several years and I enjoy it very much. I never tried to fool anyone into believing that mine was a real Bugatti as the large disc brakes would certainly let experts know that something was awry. Mine does probably feel quite close to an original 35. The weight, dimensions, power, steering, suspension, and so forth are all close to the original Bugatti specifications. Even the hand crank works and starts the 2 liter Toyota in line engine with relative ease. The shift is proper. I know I will never win any prize for mine but I am proud to say that my car is the only one at most car shows that was entirely built by just one man without a kit or plans. Frame, body, differential housing, front axel...all mine. It does not like to go slow! I don't either.
