The Connecting rods are done. Of course pictures have been added to the album. They are a shade under 3-1/2 inches long. Cute little buggers!

Very nice. Does the middle one also act as a spanner?

Nice to see the cams running at 1/2 the crank speed.

What's a spanner?

If you mean a belt tensioner, No. The lower left wheel will pivot for adjustment. It's hard to see but the left idler is mounted on a small arm and can pivot on a small screw.

The adjustment CANNOT be in the center. As the belt is tensioned in the center it will pull the belt down and change the cam timing. The cam on the left will move clockwise and the right counterclockwise.

The idler pulley's are made from a bronze shaft with 2 bearings mounted on it and a bronze cap. The bearings are .375 round and .155 wide with a .125 hole in them.

Pictures look great. I have started on the intake but it looks nothing like that one. It was designed from a photo of a museum piece sitting on a stand. Square in shape but there will be some screws visible. I think i can make a compressor that looks alot like that but it will likely be a dummy for now. Its amazing how hard it is to build a running model and stay true to the look of the original.

Anyway. . . Piston are done!!!!

Well the intake manifold is done. Dont be to hard on me, it has to function so some bolts have to be seen. It looks too low so some redesign may have to be done. For now i will carry on and try to complete the oil pan or the . . . . .?

Made the Compressor/Blower. For now it is a dummy (hearing boo's from the back row). I am going to talk to my brother-in-law who is a real machinist to get some help on how to cut the veins and maybe make it a functional unit. I think it looks alot like the unit in the photo's above.

What do you guy's think? I know it isn't an exact copy, number one rule is it has to run. Other than the intake manifold being to low, does it look like the real thing? Need some feedback.

For me it looks OK. Creating a working blower is a different ballgame: You will need to figure out a proper way of driving it, lubricating it, and create the lobes pretty accurately. Quite some work!

How will you carburate the beast?

Funny you asked about the carb. I just completed a spacer between the manifold and compressor. I also made the carb adapter plate and mounted the Walbro carb. They are common on weed wackers and other small 2 cycle engines.

I have finished the flywheel, pics are posted.

I also have all the oilpan parts made. If my buddy does'nt make time to weld them for me i will take them to a weld shop and get it done.

I also ordered some material to make the distributors and caps. I stole the idea (with permission) from "Uncle" Dale who builds coolest little flat 4.
