Maybe you can use some etching acids to patinize the aluminium? try it on an out-of sight piece first. Sandblasting may be an other possibility. Or: You just leave the wheels as they are, and tell everybody that your model just had an American restauration! |

I probably use the dry brushing technique...I think this gives the proper patina. |

Aluminum wheels: sand with finer and finer grit of sandpaper until they reach the finish that you want. Buffing with different auto buffing compounds will work also. Pico |

OK, we share opinions, then. Although I am used to ill documented and badly fitting kits. (working on a type 43 by Auto Replicas in 1:24 now. Half of the parts is not on the single diagram instructions (reference pics help) and till so far the widest gap I had to tackle was more then 10mm. Yes, 1:24...) Anyhow, the T35 by Art Collection. First question: How are your butterfly screws? (to hold the bodywork). As badly corroded as mine? |

Yes, indeed. Otehrwise it will turn into a big mess. Not a single part can be trusted for fit, so all needs to be cleaned, checked for fit, adjusted, mounted, then the next step. The website www.t35.nl can be of some help, at least for the engine part. And onthe photo server there are enough reference pics. Also one of our members has created a T35 in 3D, we can always ask for some views of parts that are not certain. I will try and inventorise what I have, so we can compare. |

The engine is the only part that can be build straight on... I think we have to create sub-assemblies of parts that don“t need to be painted. Ton |
