Register on the forum ![]() Once you reach the forum, you will see a page, similar like this. In the white box, find the link "register" and click it. This will take you to the next page. ![]() Please read the forum rules and disclaimer. Click if you are 13 or over, and agree with the forum rules. This takes you to the page where you will choose a username, password, etc. ![]() In this page you will need to fill out the neccesary info to be able to login: Your username, E-mail address (please use a valid one), your desired password (twice, do not worry, I cannot see your password), the confirmation code (unfortunately neccesary to prevent spambots from registering). Then read the notice in the red block: do not fill in any other information. At least not at this point. Scroll down and click the "submit" button. This will bring you to the following message: ![]() ![]() Now check your E-mail box for the E-mail address you provided. It should contain an Email, containing a link. Click this link. Congratulations, your registration is now complete! ![]() ![]() This registration works for the forum and the photo database. This registration does not work for the shop and the wiki. For these applications you will need to register seperately. (although you can read the wiki, and browse the shop without registration) If this all fails, please contact me: herman at bugattibuilder dot com Enjoy the forum! Herman |

Posting a reply on the forum (includes pictures) A pictorial will come later. If you see a discussion, on which you want to give a reaction, please click the "post reply" button. This will bring you to a window, where you can type your comments. Pressing the "Submit" button will send the reply to the server, so everyone can see your comments. Posting a picture in your reply: Search for a picture on the internet. Great places to look are the photo server, and the WIKI. When you found what you were looking for, right-click that image and choose "properties". Now select the image location. Although it is pictured in grey, you can still copy the location. Select it, then press "ctrl-c". The location of the picture is now stored in the "clipboard". Make a new post, and click the "img" button. Then paste (ctrl-v) the image, then click the "img button again. The image code is now embedded in "image tags" and when pressing "submit", it will show. One small hickup: The funny thing with that img button is, that it always places the image at the end of the posting. No problem if you are just typing away, but if you want to place the image on another location, you need a small trick to do so: -paste the image location on the place you want the image to appear. -select the image code -press the img button. This will place "image tags" around the selected code. Using a picture from the photo server is quite simple: See this video tutorial how to do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOouw8BzEYM |

How to upload pictures using the normal uploader Uploading pictures is relatively easy. The advantage is that pictures are available for anyone, and that relevant info on the picture can be added. Of the chassis number of a car is unknown, other people can place comments on the picture, including the chassis number. Already more than 2000 pictures have been linked to a chassis number this way. To upload: click "upload file" in the menu ![]() In the next page, one can select the pictures that need to be uploaded. The first 10 entries are suitable for pictures, which are on your computer, the next 10 (URL/URI upload) are available for pictures, which are on the internet (just enter the exact URL in those fields) ![]() Click "browse" next to one of the fields, then select the image you want to upload. ![]() Fill all the available fields this way. You do not need to fill them all. Then you have less than 10 pictures, just click "continue" on the bottom of the page. ![]() the next page tells you how many pictures have been uploaded succesfully, and if there were any errors (usually due to forbidden file extensions, or pictures that are too large.) In this case, all 5 were succesfull. ![]() Click continue to proceed, and in the next page, a small image appears, and you can fill in the data on that picture. ![]() The one thing that must be filled in, is the album in which the picture should be placed. This can be chosen with the pulldown menu. if the chassis number is not available, just place the picture in the album "unknown chassis number" and I will take care of moving the picture later. ![]() Fill in the rest of the details, if known. Click continue, and the next image will appear. ![]() Once all images are placed in their albums, you are brought back to the main page. In video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2e-ccw-FFA |

How to post pictures on the WIKI. To post pictures on the WIKI, a picture must be present on the Internet. So first we need to transfer the picture from your computer to the internet. (or perhaps the picture is already available on the Internet). A great way to store pictures on the Internet is the photo server. An explanation on the photoserver is somewhere above this post. Let's look at how we can use a picture from the photo server on the WIKI: -first find the desired picture on the photo server. (in this case a type 13, chassis 415) ![]() Right-click the image, and choose "properties" ![]() Then highlight the image location: ![]() Right click on the highlighted image location, then choose "copy" ![]() Now move to the WIKI, to the edit page of the page you want to edit (in this case the page on chassis 415). In the content field, right click, and choose "paste". ![]() The image location should now appear. Check if you have all of it, it should start with "http" and end with "jpg" or "jpeg" or "gif" (depends on the type of picture) ![]() Click "save page" as you would also do normally on the WIKI, to save the changes you have made to the page. Now the page is displayed, with your changes. ![]() |
