What do you do after you’ve been the first general manager of Hewlett Packard’s computer business, the venture capitalist behind a few nice little start-ups such as Amazon, AOL and Genentech, and perhaps the only man to have been chairman of three different New York Stock Exchange-listed companies at the same time?

Well….. simple…. You order a custom build sailing yacht of 88 meter in length and equip it wit a big porcelain Bugatti Type 35 that can disappear in a table…. Fantasy… well… not for Tom Perkins and his new sailing yacht Maltese Falcon

My opinion: an ugly boat, and an ugly piece of art. But I like the idea.

How about a real 1:1 Bugatti in the yachts garage?

No real Bugattis on the Yacht. Only an EB110 in the Garage....

Not my taste. I guess this is Thomas J. Perkins? Just have a look at his 1984 book "Classic Supercharged Sportscars". He describes his collection at the time: type 55 roadster (55229), 57C Atalante (57557), 57SC Corsica roadster (ex Malcolm Campbell, 57531), 57SC Atlantic (57591) amongst truly desirable other classics.

I recall that he sold (most of?) his collection because he liked sailing more...

The sale of any of those cars would free me enough funds to buy a nice boat, and enjoy both sailing and driving...

Because of his interest in things Bugatti as well as boats, he commisioned a very fine model of the YouYou motor luanch, which he owns, to put on a model of his sail boat.
