Bugatti at Francorchamps

For our book I m looking anyhelp about the Bugattis entered at Spa, we have almost all but we need confirmation for the type of the cars.

I will start with the first one

The car entered by Delzaert for de Thier en de Zunega, obviously a 2 liters, according on various sources T 30 or even T 38

Any comments

7 July 1928: Type 30 of Dethier and Mans de Zenica which retired after it caught fire during the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race.

Why are the headlights facing towards the sky??

If I read the official papers and the primary source, the car is a 2 liters,

For the lights, you never knwo what s fallen from the trees

only the left headlight seems to be lifted on an angle
but they are both wearing protection covers, so might be moved when they putted those one

From the brakes and radiator shape I believe this may be a T38

Thanks for the answer.

The fact that every body believes this car is a T 30, is comming from the book of Kupélian.
But with the istures and the primary sources from this year, it s obviously a real 2 liters.

Now I going up in the years.

Max Thirion entered a T 46 at Liège-Rome-Liège. He also entered this car at Spa 2 times.
In 1931, he finished second in class but what s more important, the car was bodied in a rough way totaly different from the Rallye.

I ll post a picture of the car later under copyright form.

In 34, he was DNA

I think also that s will be preferable to start a new subject dedicated to the long T 44 saga

My 1924 type 30 has much bigger brake drums on the back than the car in the picture.

Your car has obviously spent too long in england.

Early T30s had smaller front brakes than at the rear. This may have been just the hydraulically braked cars. Later both front and rear were cable opearated and the drums were the same size. The T38 used larger drums, hence my belief that the car illustrated is a T38.

I m very Dubious about the Bugatti of Desvignes in 1933 and 1934. I think that there is two different cars. The 1933 car at Spa is different from cockpit side, it seems more bif, look at the deisgn of the door.
At le Mans, the entrant was Mahé also garagist, the shape of the front and rear body is the same design, but the centre of the car is totally différent.
At Spa, the car has again a different body, more standard with standard front wings.

What do you think ??
