Am I the only Bugatti enthusiast who hates these T46/50's? Or maybe the only one on the forum who has actually worked on them? They were scrapped because they were no good.end of story. There are many other big cars that survived because they were good designs.

Engine or chassis or what?

I dont like the fact that there are some 2000 separate bits between the flywheel and the front seat ! The engine has to be the worst design Ettore made [even including the T73....]The oil sealing arrangements around the sump are diabolical,The gearbox is at least one gear light of a full set,and is quite heavy in unsprung weight. The "self adjusting" brakes are dangerous [even Bugatti realised this and removed them subsequently] because they move the brake levers around as they adjust bringing the levers round to a decreasingly effective position. The chassis is OK.I much prefer the T57 style of motor, with a proper crankcase and block.I could carry on but YOU have worked on them I am sure.....I have not mentioned the large rubber mounting on the flywheel..... I have driven many miles in T46 and also T50.Can I take this opportunity to ask if anyone wants to buy the patterns for the T68B [4 cylinder DOHC,supercharged 370cc moter] I have nearly fifty of them and all drawings are available from the Bugatti trust.A wonderful project that I would love to do if I was not already so deeply involved in the T251.A private message will contact me.
