Is this in 1:1 or were these scale models?

Classic & sports Car featured this guy a while ago, he builds models of "barn-find" cars and trucks. If I remember correctly he searches for metal pieces already a little decayed and then build them up into these fabulous tributes to scrap yard cars. As far as I could tell they were pretty accurate, but their true beauty lies in this distressed patina he manage to give them.

Of course I cannot find that particular issue of C&SC now, but surely someone must remember this guy - his work is truly unique, it manages to combine model-building with sculpture. A very talented man indeed, and his works are ravishingly beautiful.

Regards
Johan

Martin Heukeshoven´s work can be seen at Retromobile every year. Hispano-Suiza, Facel Vega, Bugatti 57, but also Citroen DS and Porsche 356... and this year he´ll show something „very different“ – just make sure to see his exhibit at Retromobile. His website is www.martin-heukeshoven.de
